FACT OR FICTION

I’m a fan of sci-fi like many people are

A fan of the extraordinary and bizarre

I like to hear tales of the unexplained

Such as when frogs fell when it rained

I like to hear mysterious yarns or tales

A ghastly Halloween story never fails

Although I enjoy the stories very much

I do not believe them to be true as such

The clue is in the name of science fiction

If it’s not a fact then it’s a contradiction

I have never believed in alien abduction

Or even spontaneous human combustion

Crop circles made by little green men

Or extraterrestrial phoning home again

Some people believe in dousing for water

Mind readers or the foreign spoon bender

Palm reading is for fair ground sideshows

Who believes in fortune telling god knows

There is no Big Foot or Loch Ness monsters

No abominable snowman in the Himalayas

No time travel as suggested by HG Wells

Telekinetic’s only happens in King Novels

There are no poltergeists or apparitions

No evil spectre’s or phantom visitations

Mediums are nothing more than charlatans

Conjuring up their ectoplasmic apparitions

Giving only vagueness about Uncle Fred

In their charade at contacting the dead

And folklore is a euphemism for made up

No imps or sprites or a woodland elf cup

No Irish leprechauns or even garden fairies

No woodland folk or tiny Cornish pixies

Nor do I believe in malevolent goblins

Or hob’s and trolls and cheeky gremlins

Enjoying myths and legends of our time

Or enjoying science fiction is not a crime

But you should retain a grip on reality

To take it too seriously would be a pity

The force is only with you in the movie

If you think its true, you’re sad or lonely

Aliens don’t inhabit our environments

Kidnapping victims for their experiments

Too much belief in them you should avoid

They’re not here for you you’re paranoid

HUMEROUS HAIKU # 1

I heard about the Claustrophobic astronaut Who wanted some space
