“John Carter” is a Sci-Fi, action adventure, screenplay written by Andrew Stanton, Mark Andrews and Michael Chabon, based on the story “A Princess of Mars” by Edgar Rice Burroughs and Directed by Andrew Stanton.
Despite trying to live a normal life in 1868, Civil
War veteran John Carter (Taylor Kitsch) is a fleeing both Indian fighters and
the Army and is forced to take refuge when the shooting starts.
Inside the cave a figure suddenly materializes and
tries to kill him but John turns the tables on him and as he lies dying on the
ground he notices a glowing medallion in his hand and when Carter touches it
and repeats the dying figures muttered last word, Barsoom, he finds himself transported
to Mars and encounters many strange, often hostile creatures and a Princess in
desperate need of a saviour.
Lynn Collins plays the princess, and the star-studded
supporting cast includes Samantha Morton, Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church,
Mark Strong, Ciarán Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy and Bryan Cranston, to
name but a few.
